Esther Oliveira, an intern in Marriage and Family Therapy at Kairos University, is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in pastoral counseling. Born and raised in Brazil, she and her husband began their ministry there before moving to the United States in 1986 to serve as pastors within the Brazilian community. Over 40 years of service in church settings, Esther has
traveled extensively, dedicating her life to inspiring others to pursue their goals and fulfill their purpose. Motivated to make a more profound impact, Esther returned to school to earn her master’s degree, equipping herself to advocate for individuals in transition, particularly couples, youth, immigrants, and those affected by substance abuse and domestic violence. Known for her empathy, support, confidence, and impartiality.
Esther’s life is not just about her professional journey. She finds joy in cooking for her family and friends, enjoying the moments spent around the table where they share stories, laugh, and play games long after the meal. She loves reading and walking along the beach. She is astonished by the sunsets. She also loves biking with her husband.
Esther’s academic journey is a testament to her dedication and thirst for knowledge. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Theology in Brazil in 1983, a significant milestone in her journey. Later, she completed a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management at Nyack College in 2012, further enhancing her skills and knowledge. Her commitment to learning is also evident in her membership in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and her certification in Pre-Marital Counseling. She is fluent in English and Portuguese, a testament to her commitment to serving diverse communities.
