Barbara Silva

Barbara is a mother of two lovely kids and married since 2012. She started pursuing her career as
Marriage and Family Therapist by acquiring her bachelors in Psychology from UCONN. She is
currently enrolled at Alliance University in Manhattan, where she is finishing to pursue her
master’s degree. She was born and raised in Brazil, and moved to the USA when she was fifteen.
She currently resides in Connecticut. Barbara enjoys to spend time with her family
Barbara has worked with kids, adolescents, and their parents at the Yale Child Study Center in
New Haven by conducting research with extreme confidentiality and empathy. She has also
worked at Redeem Wellness Center in Bridgeport for two years, troubleshooting problems with
diplomacy and respect for all as a priority.
She is an attentive listener committed to providing excellent services to clients by building a
relationship of trust and honesty. She feels enriched when helping people identify their values,
and achieve their goals, whether they are personal, with family, or with peers.
Barbara believes that together, we can work on strategies that allow the client to address their
difficulties and to achieve a mentally healthy lifestyle. She is passionate about facilitating the
healing of invisible wounds.
Barbara is continually working to expand her knowledge, and skills, in her endeavor to help
people to live a meaningful and fulfilling life thru human interactions.
