Eibisay Rosario
Eibisay Rosario is pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of New Haven. With a strong foundation in psychology, education, and community advocacy, she brings a holistic and creative perspective to work with individuals and families. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and is committed to culturally responsive care.
Eibisay began her career in mental health as a Peer Bridger with the New York Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services, providing crisis intervention, recovery planning, and peer support for clients transitioning from psychiatric hospitalization to community life. Skilled at engaging people who are difficult to reach, she builds trust through empathy and respect.
She later served as a Recovery Support Specialist with Clifford Beers in New Haven, working with children, families, and individuals impacted by trauma and substance use. There, she conducted assessments, connected families with resources, and empowered clients to create recovery plans rooted in dignity and self-determination. These experiences strengthened her passion for trauma-informed and culturally attuned care.
An educator and artist, Eibisay currently teaches art to more than 500 elementary and middle school students in Bridgeport. Her classroom weaves mindfulness, journaling, and creative expression into lessons that help young people build resilience and a sense of agency.
Her academic and personal interests include neurasthenics, the study of how art and design influence the brain and emotions. She is particularly interested in how thoughtfully designed environments, such as classrooms, counseling spaces, and homes, can promote safety, support emotional regulation, and foster mental well-being. This vision reflects a broader mission: to support underserved communities, particularly mothers and minority families, by creating spaces and opportunities for growth, empowerment, and healing.
Outside of work and study, Eibisay enjoys painting, reading, researching, and DIY projects that express her love of design and the built environment. Most of all, she treasures time with her three children, who inspire her commitment to creating spaces of peace, creativity, and connection.
